cacole

Stone Container Corporation makes cardboard boxes, and that's what the car is made of; so there's no telling whose trucks they used.  Since it was a freebie, no doubt the cheapest they could find.  Meant to be only a display model.

He sent me some close up pics of the trucks where you can clearly see they are the USAT trucks like on this car -

I think that little Sante Fe Is gonna have some trouble.

Specially since that means a "4 rail" mainline?

 Here's the pic -

The box car is card stock. Definitely not garden worthy. One good rain and its mush. The trucks are USA Trains Andrews style trucks.

Perhaps a local club could steer you in the right direction.  It would appear that someone with some knowledge needs to actually look at it to determine just what you have there!   Maybe a local hobby shop (preferably one that deals in G scale)!

i have no idea who made the trucks on the car

the car was actually built from the box company Smurfit Stone container back in 1989 it was used during the grand opening. but the boxcar trucks are probably a good name although i dont see any name or numbers on the trucks

i have pictures but dont know how to post them

Replacement couplers are easy to find but we need more info and / or pics. Do you who made the car? Most have manufacturer markings on the bottom.

My first guess would be Charles Ro (aka USA Trains) or possibly Delton, LGB, or Bachmann.
