I agree with Brian, Piko and Pola buildings and add Colorado Model Structures www.coloradomodel.com fit right in with those in the Sierra and Comstock towns where I live. Also don’t forget fires were/are regular occurrences in these areas and after the third or forth time they rebuilt with brick or stone. Actually most cities in Northern California and Nevada, including San Francisco, Oakland, Sacramento and Reno still have some of these structures.

Have fun, Rob

There are a number of Piko/Pola kits of small wood buildings the fit quite well with a Western theme.

Smith Pond Junction has many DIY wood buildings that are perfect - http://spjrr.com/spjrr/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=4_5

Preiser has cowboy and indian figures.

LGB offered a number of old time western figure sets that might be still around.

These guys have old time figures - http://www.peopleyouneed.com/

Can anyone help me cut through all the clutter and help me find some suppliers of models and such that would work for the 1800's era of the west?
