We have 4" of snow, and still snowing, and can't go plow cause wind is blowing 25 - 35 mph (30mph = 870 scale mph) and would blow trains off tracks! First dry snow I've seen in years, darn it! Would love to watch that be parted by plow in nice even flow!
Hey Capt. Bob, I tried running my train in southeastern pa. but can't get any traction. We don't have the wind to contend with like you do though. You're right, this is the perfect snow type for our trains to plow. Nice and light and powdery. Hope the wind dies down so you can get a chance to enjoy your trains today.

We got winds over 40mph later in the day. forecast for temp to be about 15 degrees tues morning with wind chill 0 or slightly minus! judging from the inch or so of ice I found under the snow on my driveway, I'll not be running trains til the upper 50's hit on Sunday!
Talk about getting cold, we got down to a 61° F wind chill factor last night. Almost had to turn on the electric blanket.

We had 90 degrees here in the sunny desert. The sunset was beautiful.
We had over 6 inches but with the winds it drifted in the upper part of the layout to well over a foot. The cold temps kept icing the tracks up so could not run the trains. My plan was to have them running from the start of the storm. It only lasted for a little bit then it was icy tracks. It gave me a chance to work on my dunkirk engine.
We have had a few inch's of rain since last weekend with some high wind's in NORCAL BUT WE ARE IN DROUT conditions MUST HAVE BEEN DRY 2 FOOT of SNOW in the Serrias??

I shouldn’t have said anything; we’ve had 18” of very wet snow in the last 24 hrs and still falling. Can’t find the railroad and had to sweep out my Dish antenna several times. It reminds me, the SP used to have microwave antenna sweepers up here.
