Give a look at Split Jaw Clamps, they make one exactly for what you are wanting to do.

Also do a google search for Hillman Rail Clamps.

Rail joiners
Posted by utahpete on Wednesday, February 4, 2009 10:24 AM

Capital expenditure limits by the Board of Directors forces me to use a couple of LGB code 332 switches with my AMS code 250 brass flex.  Anyone make a hybrid joiner (clamp or slip-on) that works?  I'm trying to cobble up something from the supplied joiners, but it's pretty messy so far.

Thanks!
