Hello PG.
Welcome to LS.
I manufacturer RCS throttles.
I have recently released just such a soft start/stop system as you describe.

It has the added advantage that a plug in R/C module can be added at a later date to convert the system to full battery R/C.

Best wishes,

Tony Walsham.

Alternative Loco Contol, using microprocessors( LOL Self control-ish)

Hi, I have ( will have when completed this spring) a circuit of about 350 ft. I am using a 6 amp power supply giving 18 volts. I have decided to use a Loco self control-ish system where u retrofit an electronic controller on each loco, giving pushbutton inertia acceleration deacceleration, emergency rapid deacceleration, and with the use of a magnet over a sensor controled station stops( a magnet on a signal gantry), this will allow for constant illimination of onboard lighting, sounds etc. I wondered if anyone else was using alternative control systems to the usual type?
