 Maybe it is salt!    With the high demand for road salt both in the United States and United Kingdom over this winter I guess salt mines  could afford new locos.

 What has never been satisfactorily answered is: just WHAT is being mined that the company can invest in all this new locomotive stock??? Given the current investment crises are they simply digging caverns to store barrels of Whiskey, Brandy and Rum in?

Yeah the old Tyco stuff, lots of critters in HO - all bad runners

but I had cab of the German Kof in mind, kind of just Americanized it ala Plymouth

Hay Vic, get a load of this. I forgot my son has two of these. It's just a Tyco, but they are kinda hard to come by. It has a "Lima" kit on it. I think they were only available in sets. Not just the standard Tyco hustler type. It has kinda a dress up kit snapped onto it. Kinda reminds me of what you did.

     Wow,  what a nice job!   You must have one heck of a spare parts bin to draw from. It would be cool  if you could take a wide angle picture of all the bashes you have created, say, in the past 5 years. I always look forward to your postings on this forum.

Some times when I see something a switch goes off in my head and the way on how to make something comes very quickly to me.
When I saw the new LGB Kof I thought that was really cool, then Chris Walas posted his way cool "low slung" Porter on MLS and then I really wanted something "low slung" like that but in Dismal form,  and began considering how to use a Mack to do it

One day sketching in my little notebook the switch went of, Aha!, so I decided to make something like the Kof with influences by Plymouth

What I started with:

Introduce Mr Razorsaw

Relocate the cab back and cut it into the frame, added some additional frame extenstions

Cut the radiator off the hood, add a new styrene hood

New bits added,

New interior started

Underside showing self adhesive lead weights stuck where-ever I could fit them

Be carefull to make sure the engine weights are balance evenly, helps performance

Painted

Still needs a little weathering and a dullcoat to even out the paint, but its all ready for service on the line.
