I just went to Ridge road's site because I need to get some track to make a larger radius curve than I have. The prices seem to be lower now with 10' switches below $50 and flex track rails @ 109! This economy showing up already in trains? Joe
Wow--they have dropped their prices! That's a good price for 12 4.5 straights too. I may have to bite
They have had the 4.5 footers on sale for quite awhile. I picked up a couple of boxes of brass a while back. Aristo has discontinued the 4.5 foot size.
We should expect all track prices to drop in the next year as the bottom has really fallen out of the metals market.

Possibly as a result of the stagnant world economy and collapse of the housing market, metal prices have plummeted. There was a news blurb last week that the copper mines in Arizona are laying off workers because of the lack of demand for copper.
According to Lewis Polk, the prices won't drop for them until they unload the stuff they bought at the inflated price, then it may go down a bit. He estimates about the middle of 2009 for this to happen, unless someone buys up all his inventory.

What both of the BIG two need is a west coast distributer, that would cut cost for both and lower the cost to us the end user.
The head is gray, hands don't work , back is weak, legs give out, eyes are gone, money go's and my wife still love's Me.
Does St Aubin in Las Vegas count as a west coast distributor? Otherwise, I am not sure what you mean here.
This doesn't make sense if they're using more modern cost accounting methods. You either don't get money by not selling inflated merchandise, or you take a hit by selling inflated merchandise at a discount to reflect the new market.
You take a loss either way.

Make that a distribution point,as in instead of the east coast.

Ok, to be fair, RLD is having a thanksgiving sale. Pick the heading on the top left of the list marked thanksgiving sale or:
