vsmith There was word on the Bachmann website that there were no orders placed for sets this year by either OSH or Sams Club, I did see a couple of sets back in Oct in the local OSH but they were left over sets from last year. Its a big dissappointment for many folks, but the economic downturn may have some companies rethinking their Xmas deals, also in years past the OSH sets were only $99.95, but last years sets were $199.95... twice the price! then OSH didnt put them on sale on the 26th but trundled them off to a warehouse for storage till this year, the ones I saw in Oct were $199.95, so it looks like an era might be over, shame considering how many people got their start in large scale thru this inexpensive sets over the years.

Feel the same, the OSH set and a train calender was a Chisrtmas must. It made my change from HO to G and I've never gone back. I've wondered if the change had to do with the OSH merge with Sears (I recieved a OSH gift card and it was good at all OSH and Sears stores)?

Have fun with your trains
Has anyone seen the 2008 Bachmann Orchard Supply train set yet? They usually come out for the christmas season at OSH stores. One of the few G scale guys in this area told me they were out and were not worth buying. I went down to the local OSH store yesterday and they were not on the shelf yet. Just wondering what they look like this year as I bought a set last year and plan on buying one each coming year. Not to run but to keep in the boxes and hoard
