Bachmann K-27/Airwire Custom speed curve
Posted by BigTracks on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 8:43 AM

Has anyone programmed a custom (28 speed step) speed curve for the Bachmann K-27? I would appreciate some input on this subject as I have been unsuccessful in my attempts.  Still getting jack rabbit starts.

What sort of controller are you using? On mine i use Train Engineer  PWC instead of linear I know it tells you to use linear but i`ve had no problems with my loco`s.  PWC gives a smooth start on my layout. I run analogue, linear gives a bumpy start.    Hope this helps

Thanks for your response.  I am currently using the Airwire T9000 controller with battery power.  I do use PWC with excellent results but the motor is noisy.  That is why I wanted to try the 28 speed step control. Starting voltage is too high for this loco except with PWC (128 speed step).

Why not use 128 speed steps?  All of my Airwire controlled locos are set at 128 steps.  Very smooth, although I do not have any Bachmann locos on Airwire, and don't have their K-27...still hoping for a 1:22.5 version someday Dead

The speed step number change section is on page 7 (4 in the pdf) of the T9000 manual.

Here's a link:
