Hospital Displays
Posted by dukebasketballer` on Sunday, October 26, 2008 6:11 PM
Hi Guys, I am curious about train display at hospitals. I helped out with the one at the Arnold Palmer Childrens Hospital in Orlando and am aware of a few others, but I was hoping that you guys could help me out in finding some more. I am just curious as to what others are out there an how they are done. I am not interested in just G scale displays, but displays in any gauge. I would greatly appreciate it if you could either post links or pics here to the forum or send a pm with that same info. Thanks for your help, David

 Duke Boy,

The Arizona Big Train Operators have two very nice hospital layouts. One at the Phoenix Childrens Hospital, and one at a big hospital in Mesa.  Check their web site for more details.

The layout at Banner Desert Hospital has been temporarily shut down. It was open to the air and often got rained on. The hospital decided to add floors above the railroad and use that space so with ongoing construction the layout was shut down until they are done. The layout at Phoenix Childrens Hospital is up and running and can be seen at: http://azbigtrains.org/phoenix%20childrens%20hospital.htm  We have an open house every Christmas to raise money for the layout. This year we have 11 layouts on the open house. Info will be on the web site soon. By the way they are adding a big new expansion at PCH and when it is done they are talking about having us add a SECOND layout at PCH! Thanks, Roger Crooks, ABTO member.
