USA Trains Diaphragms
Posted by MRH044 on Sunday, October 19, 2008 9:22 PM

I bought four new USA Trains Corrugated Aluminum passenger cars and found that ½ of the diaphragms were crushed. Below are a couple of quick pictures showing some of my other cars with normal diaphragms. As you can see from the pictures, I like to close couple my passenger cars so the diaphragms touch.

I need 4 new diaphragms. Do any of you know of any shops where I could find these? Thanks,  Michael

You will need to call them, as I have never received a reply by e-mail from them. Then

you will have to give them half your blood to get any parts.

That would be useless TOO, all Charlie will do is eventually hang-up on you also, just as he did to me, his greed will not allow him to give any proper customer care evidentally...... I even tried to get some assistance through folks who monitor this forum, but the money evidentally again always spoke louder......Even though I have already made it known to all, that I have purchased well in excess of $20,000 of the afore mentioned manufacturer's product lines.......Free (Greed) enterprise rules......

Hello everyone. Sorry I did not get back to you guys - this week was crazy with homework and midterms!!

I actually did get a reply back:  "Please call and speak with Insert Name Here." I have not even bothered to call as of yet. USA customer support is not nearly as good as Aristo Crafts. Aristo seems to get back to you and they actually answer what I asked.

I have always admired Mr. Custer's large fleet of streamlined passenget cars. You wouldn't happen to know where to get any diaphragms would you?!? Maybe they will come up on ebay sometime.

I had to replace both diaphragms on this car. I stole them off an RPO and that is the car I need replacements for.

SAY Mike,

Try contacting Al here on E-bay, in times past, he has listed some of the Diaphrams, black ones, for those cars and engines on E-bay.....

You still MIGHT, that,s a BIG MIGHT, be-able to get the diaphrams from USA, by at least trying to contact them directly, and explain who you purchased them from, now if the cars were directly drop shipped by USA to you, just provide them a copy of your receipt and MAYBE they will send them to you......A few Years ago, they did at least do that for me on a set of the Amtrak cars, however they sent me the black ones....

It's at least worth a try and see what happens, all USA could do is the same as they've been doing recently.............Nothing.........

Michael,

I am in need of 4 diaphragms. All the diaphragms come in black, I just painted the good ones silver. These are the diaphragms that I need to replace. The three on the left (one black and two painted silver) have been crunched and the one on the right is perfect. The fourth one was so damaged that I threw it in my scrap parts bin.

These are only slightly bent.
