Architecture Student needs a plan and section of a standard train! Please HELP!
Posted by architecturestudent on Monday, October 13, 2008 4:02 AM

Hi, I am an architecture student and have just been given a project where we are to investigated trains. I need plans, sections and elevations drawings of just a standard train carriage, preferrably to scale and CAD drawing if pos. Have trawled through google images but cant find anything!

Any suggestions?! Thanks for your help!

Well, it would help us a great deal if you told us where in the world you were...

Here in the UK we have differing loading gauge to the rest of the EU Berne Gauge Loading, which varies from the Cape gauge loading that I grew up with in Africa. This is of course different from the CIS or US std gauge loading.

I can easily provide you with a UK std gauge Mk3 coach drawing -but would it be any use to you?

Have a look here and then tell us what you are looking for.

Hi Toad,  stay in there, from a fellow Texan. Wife and I were in Galveston a week before Ike on a cruse, also spent honeymoon in Galveston 55 years ago and our hearts go out for all of you!!!!.   The most interesting site I have found is www.TheDouglasSelfSite.com  and go to the left column to unusual steam engines.
