Pops,

Look on most your locos and have "made in china" but there are a few that I guess are made in USA.

No American this year. Period

Only new items, German stock, new Marklin/LGB are being sold only in Europe and on the world market, we are deliberatly being left out of the mix. Why? can say for certain, most likely concerns that Euro-centric stock would not sell well, distribution is still in question, and the Euro to Dollar rate is so bad anything imported would be very pricey, all adds up to a grim picture from a bottom line pov.

We keep hearing maybe sometime "next year" yeah right.

Silvergate/ex-LGBoA now has distribution of Piko, and has dropped LGB save their own remaining warehouse stock. So who would distribute Marklin, Walthers? that would be a disaster for the modeler, as Walthers never met an MSRP it didnt like. IOW's no direct to buyer mail order discount prices like we've all gotten used to.

Honestly William, I would consider for the near future, new Marklin/LGB is done with the US.

All we have left is NOS and Ebay

I like Hartland also.

   Have fun with your trains

They are I bet for a lower mans stand point testing the waters (money flow).

You know what I say to this every time that type of statement comes up is "you can not trust a maker to keep there dead lines or production and even out to the market".

Yes Piko is nice but price wise for most all there stuff I could not even think to pay that much for a display.

My personal opinion is that you will NEVER see any more LGB American stuff. I think that LGB will create a new company within it's network and slowly sell all of the American molds to them to manufacture it under a new name. Thus cutting out LGB of America and Silvergate from selling any of it and getting any of the profits. We already see Piko making LGB style track with the complete suspension of the manufacturing of LGB track. (By the way, I like the look of the new PIKO track over the oul LGB track and it is about the same price.) American business's aren't the only ones who know how to screw the public.

Yup, if you want American, your only option is Harland.  Not even USA Trains are made in the US.  I have a USA 20Tonner at work, and it says "Made In China" on the bottom.

Kinda disconcerting to see "USA Trains" and "MADE IN CHINA" on the same model, huh? I agree, it's Hartland for me. My next loco is gonna be a Big John.

Does anyone know if Hartland sells engines with sound? That is an option I would like to have. Regards, Dennis.

I got a photo on my cell phone of the bottom of the USA 20tonner showing that is says "Made In China".  It is a very dark photo though, I will try it again when I go back to work again.  It is very sad though.Banged Head [banghead]
