Some guy here in town bought an old school bus and ripped all the seats out of it. He uses it to haul pigs. I often see it parked near where my kids go to school. The guy hand painted "The Bacon Bus" on the side where the school name once was. Too funny. Did I mention the snow is melting!?!?!? This thread is gotta' end. Later eh...Brian.

Well I'm going to make you all sick. If burger doesn't have grease it tastes like S#$%. I eat probably very unhealthely but I just don't gain weight. I'm 6'3" 150lbs on a good day, I'm very active work wise but it's mostly heredity.

People like that real crispy greasy piggy-fat version of bacon down here... or the "healthy living" crowd buys this god-awful product called "near-bacon" or "tofu-bacon" which tastes like it was made out of old tires flavored with salt.[xx(]

We have something like that here too, at Carls Jr, a western US fastfood chain, its called the "low carb burger" its basicly its the same oversized hamburger only instead of a bun they use big peices of lettuce and wrap it like a burrito, and Subway , a deli sandwich chain has the Atkin-sandwich which uses a thin lava***ype bread to hold everything together...

The next latest Atkins crazy-trend food down here looks like Chicharones, that "pork rinds" to everyone east of the Rocky's and north of Oklahoma. Everyone is yaking about its high protien, no carb attributes...of course no ones mentioning the FAT!

Ya know if I want a high protein low fat no carb snack, I'll just buy a pack of Beef Jerky.

Hey Guys,
McDonalds is complaining about people changing their eating habits, Atkins being a big cause. Here in Canada we have what are called "Protein Platters" on the menu now. Basically a burger without a bun. Snow is MELTING! 5C today and 8C tomorrow. Part of my railway is starting to emerge! Soon I'll see what survived. Time for a donut. Later eh...Brian.

Nice to know Dunkin Donuts are still around. Several years ago, the Milwaukee WI area stores changed to a local franchise called "Donuts Plus." We got Krispy Kreme a few years ago (mmmmmmm), but the in thing now around is bagels. Bagel shops are everywhere--Big Apple Bagels, Einstein, etc.

There is money in those donuts. After Tim died the operation was bought out by his partner a Mr Joyce. He has built a luxury resort with private golf course, spa ,condos etc. in Nova Scotia, Canada. On the snowy side I am still looking for my layout. Still 3 feet of snow hiding it, Spring is a comin, I hope. Later Dara

In Mass. we have the Dunkin Donuts - Krispy Kreem (just-1) - Starbucks - Honey Dew - etc. The new thing is to put Donut shops in the new Super Stop & Shops - Super Shaws ! Get this the shopping carts have drink holders for the coffie, so you can shop for food with a buzzz! When we go to New Brunswick , Tim Hortons are the way to go ! The last Dunkin Donuts is in Maine ! Throw a rock to it fom the other side! The new Tim Hortons are adding Wendies!

I knew this thread was going to end up like this. Vic...Tim Horton was a Toronto Maple Leaf back in the hay days of hockey. How the whole franchise started up I am not exactly sure but they are now THE coffee house of choice. Yes just like Starbucks. You won't find us Truckers at Starbucks though. Can't get my 18 wheeler into a Chapters parking lot where most are located. Anywhere there is a Tim Hortons on the Trans. Canada Hwy. you will see semis lined in rows. I drive for "Martin Brower" the exclusive distributor for McDonalds in Canada. My trailer has the huge "Very Big Mac" decals on the side. Looks just awesome parked right in front of a Wendy's or A&W. Yes I have done that for a laugh. Got a minor slap on the wrist for it too. Guess I should'nt have tried to get the truck through Wendy's drive thru. Honest officer...I just had to have a Big Bacon Classic. I'm Canadian eh! Since we all are listing our fav. donuts....mine is a cranberry apple fritter. I'll have that with a large two cream please. I like the glazed but the the glazed blueberry are my favorites, they sit in you stomach like a rock( 4 donuts) I love that XXlarge black coffee for balance on the sugar.

Vsmith, tim horton's is a fast food restraunt that serves coffee, soup, bagels , donuts and sandwiches. Tim hortons around here is tied into Wendy's Hamburger restraunts. Kinda like a fast food deli. I think their donut are always stale. Krispy Cremes or nothing. they make the best donuts.

...Just what the hay is a Tim Hortons? Does Horton hear a Who? is this anything like the Starbucks Coffeehouses that are spreading like a bad rash all over this country? Do you too get to buy a tall caramel machiatto latte grande with a blueberry muffin and get to pay $10 bucks and some change for it?

Yep, you bet. Tim Hortons is killing the competition here. A new location just opened up not too far from my house. Across the street was a Robins and next to that was Coffee Time. The three formed a triangle within a block. After three months being open the Robins and the Coffee Time closed their doors! This is a busy area with a WalMart a Home Depot and a large mall all within reach. Go figure. Tims coffee is really good but man....who would have guessed?! Have a dream to have my own Large Scale train store with a Tim Hortons attached to it. MOW will be quick and easy then. Hard to talk to customers with a mouth full of Tim Bits though. I remember a few years ago sitting in a little restraunt under Manheim rd next to the ex Milwaukee Road yard in Bensenville Illinois . The yard switcher, a MP15 pulled up and one of the crew got down and came into the cafe . He picked up his morning ham and egg sandwiches (real good ham ,right off the bone )and got back on and away they went .

Haven't seen any tracks that run by Donut shops. BTW, donuts are out and bagels are in. Just ask any law enforcement officer! Oooops, did I say that? Here in the 'Peg I almost always see our "Finest" congregating at Tim Hortons. Going in to grab a coffee I will find them sitting with coffee and a bagel. That or some other so-called "nutritious" snack. Donuts are for me and my kids I guess. Since I do my own MOW does that mean I qualify? Nice shot BTW. Later eh...Brian.
