Joe; nice stuff. I used to do phone and computer work at the Cat plant in San Leandro, CA. A good friend worked there. It was a quite long warehouse looking building with offices in the front and situatied between the WP and SP mainlines. I never got in to the plant area but my friend worked on fuel injection parts. I am told this was Benjman Holts original Cat plant after moving Holt Tractor Co. from Stockton CA.

Hope this helps, Rob

Rob, just spent 2 hours with all the "leads" you gave me but only one picture of a "cat" building. I'm learning a lot about their history, Joe

Yeah Joe,

The Steamers and all, plus a few more are still listed only as a make offer, or Buy Now deal, a lot less confusing, take a look see I offer a free USA caboose with Buy Now on both Steamers.

I plan to sell off quite a bit of it over the next few months, plus a good bit of my 3-rail "O" stuff too, I got just way Too Much, gotta thin down to mainly my Road, the GN Goat...

Don: I missed the yellow tank car (3 times outbid on) and not at my dealers and I'm going to get the generator flat car someday. I should get them now while I'm a MTH club member. I just bought my first O gauge MTH engine so it's hard to get everything. What's that flat car with red trailer just out of the picture? Also, is your layout used in MTH shots? always meant to ask you that. Joe

Say Joe,

You ever seen any of the shots of my Aristo BNSF Dash-9's pulling those 10 blacks and 3 yeller Cat tankers on my lay-out......If'en you'd want to, or anyone else here for that matter, would like to sell or even trade the black ones, gim'me a holler an let me know, I'd rather have the black ones, more-so than the yeller ones......

Byron, It looked like you had about fifty of those black cats already! I must of missed the dashes pulling them? Maybe I was too busy counting cars, I thought it was the USAs or a steamer, Joe   (P.S. =I missed your MTH hudson sale, I just bought too much!)

  Engineer,

Yes the photo is on my outdoor backyard layout.  About half my cars are MTH and I run DCS Control.

On the left edge of that photo, the Flat Car with Trailer (TOFC) is a Southern Pacific truck trailer on a SP flat Car and was the MTH Club Car (One Gauge Option) for 2006.

MTH Club Cars:  2003 Box Car B&O Time Saver,  2004 Refer (red white & blue) State Of Maine Producrs marked New Haven,  2005 Tank Car Hooker Chemical,   2006 SP Flat Car with Southern Pacific Trailer,  2007 Hopper Car (red white & blue) Norfork & Western,  2008 Caboose Santa Fe in blue and yellow.

Now all you need is the Yellow Catapillar Tank Car, the Flat Car With that beautiful Cat Di-Cast Diesel, and the Cat Caboose to complete your MTH collection. The Diesel load was used on many flat cars, the Black Flat Car with Catapillar on it is "un-cataloged", it will take some looking.
