LGB Mogul Sound Problem
Posted by BodsRailRoad on Monday, September 1, 2008 11:22 PM

Hi all,

I broke out my LGB PRR 2219s Mogul today to give it a run on my temp track, it has been in storage for a few years now.

It ran really smooth but I noticed a problem with the sound volume of the chuffs of the engine. The bell and horn worked fine but the volume of the chuff was very low, you can barely hear it. I switched the battery with no help, and turning up the volume only makes the whistle and bells louder.

Any Ideas?

Thanks, Ron

Hi do you pick the chuff up form the engine or tender axcil?    If engine check pickups  if tender via reed switch, do they need to be replaced

nevermind,

I took the tender apart and cycled all the volume reostats then put the tender back together and now it works fine.

If anyone has a schematic of this loco's sound board that states what each reo controls I would be greatfull if you could eamil it to me.

Thanks, Ron
