Mr. Jones:
Your 'Scribblings' column was very fine this month. I'm not knowledgeable enough to know what kind of green engine that is, but it is fetchingly homely--just my kind of motive power. I gather it's an 0 gauge?
The B&W picture was good enough for the purpose. It seems you have not only an artistic talent, but the ability to create an evocative column.
That is the foremost thing about large scale modeling I find intriguing: the possiblilities 'beyond the box'.

Rene,
Thank you for taking the trouble to email Mr. Jones for me, particularly since it was mostly just a fan letter. I find his columns to be the brightest in GR.

Ralph,
Are you by chance subtly encouraging me to think in metric?
I at long last just got it to stick that 16mm scale is really 1:19, which is almost 1:20, which I almost know something about, size-wise.
Just so you realize I'm really trying, I bought a fancy, expensive (~$90 wholesale) digital caliper. That way I can dial in 32mm and switch right over by pushing a button to display inches to see what's under discussion.
It's around here, under the computer? Mail tray? No... wait, I took it downstairs to actually measure something....
Thanks for the reply,
Les
I have to go to his web site to get answers, now relay answers is ok to. But when you write for GR you should make yourself seen in the GR Forum. We all have much to do and is no excuse.
Myself and Peter have had great talks. Sad to see it get this way.
Toad
Toad,
I didn't know he had a website. How 'bout posting it for me? I imagine he's pretty busy, what with a column to write and all. I'd like to see his work.

There you go Les.....
Yeah I do and so do every one on the board. Look for email like in my posting here.

And is why most contributors are 1st class members of MLS not here.
Yeah Kevin, Marty, TOC and a few others post here that is true.
MLS was one of the first free places I found once my son showed me how to use this computer thingyyy.
Plus I need a place that I can house photos on their server that is able to share on other sites like GRYs or AC forum.
I don't post here as much after they changed things because it takes so long for the reply box to open with all the thousands of little boxes in it that we don't need.
Plus winter some of us have more time. I'm getting ready for our open house plus the MWLSTS, plus working full time.
Is it REAL? or Just 1:29 scale?
Long live Outdoor Model Railroading.
