I can't wait! I was so disappointed last year when they had to cancel. Only about an hour drive for me and I've already requested the day off. Looking forward to meeting some new GRR's from the area and putting some faces with these forum screen names. See you there!

I will pay a bounty on any one who can capture this man on several photos dressed up like Rene!
I might be able to show up.
That is if I knew where it is being held.

Spike wants the Bounty!!!! Yeah man......you take that pix!!!!
Is anyone from Garden Railways going to the MWLSTS?
As Waukesha is in the Mid-West I understand it shouldn't prove too difficult. After all the Editor is attending a show in the UK this weekend.

All kinds of comments.
No intelligent information.
I am asking again.
WHERE is the Midwest Large Scale Train show being held?
Springfield Illinois......
See the link below for more info.

Sorry I did not get back soon for the info.
Thanks Mr Creek for posting it.
Thank You. What is with the organizers?
I found more information about York, Pa. show than I did about Springfield, Il. from your link.
The only thing I find information about is Ramada is the sponsored Hotel. That and time and date.
I guess I didn't even read the info provided. It's not very helpful at all. Anyway, the show will be in the Orr Building of the Illinois State Fairgrounds. See address and map of the fairgounds below. If you use gate 8 or 9 it should put you right in the parking lot.

Spike,
The best place to read about the MWLSTS, also the SELSTS and ECLSTS, is on the Aristo-Craft Forum.
Most of the Mid-West info you could want is there plus of couse pics and prices of the FA-1 loco and Show Car (Katy road). You gotta be at the Show for these howver, unless you know someone who can get one for you when they are there.
I would have liked to go but it's not looking good. Maybe next year for me will be better. I enjoyed the ECLSTS the one time I got to go a few years back. A lot of new products were there. I saw the MTH steamers for the first time, and the new USA tank and hopper cars that year. It kind of set my shopping list for the following few years.
Good luck to all, and don't miss these if you can help it, or you'll be stuck "till next year" (that never comes), Joe
2 weeks away, and I guess there will be clinics. I'm doing one on SUPER SIMPLE RC /Batt
hope to see someone there?? heheheh
I went to Aristo Craft's web site. Less information that MWLS site.
Hey Marty!
I am looking forward to hearing YOU and Lewis Polk give your speeches on Friday Night at the Hotel. Should be an interesting time with the topics of "The Future of Garden Railroading" and "Operating a Garden Railway on a Budget". A great way to end the day, listing to the two of you. I always come away with some NEW knowledge when listening to the two of you.
I wanted to go to the MidWest Large Scale Show.
I could Find very little information about what was presented.
I am not traveling even in good times to a unknown event.
It may have been the best of the best show.
If it is poorly presented. It is a bad choice
Hi Spike,
I am quite surprised that you found difficulty finding out about the Show. As you wil see I live in the UK but I knew when and where it was to be held. It is advertised in the Garden Railways magazine, on at least three of the large scale Fora and of course word of mouth.
I was even able to watch, from time to time and from nearly 4000 miles distant, all those folk who bought things at the Show on the web cam that was in the Orr Building.
Maybe you will make it next year. I believe it will be at the same place and around the same time but you can always look or ask for the info nearer the time.
Well maybe there was someting lost in translation.
Read back through this blog. I made every attempt to gather information about the show.
It would have been a nice 4 to 5 hour drive for me. I love driving so I was ready.
I could not find out any information as to what was going to be presented at the show.
I really wanted to find out what was new in Garden RR. Also the prices of some thing are at special show prices.
Well I am glad you enjoyed the show.
I had one major problem when I finally got over to visit your country.
NOT ENOUGH TIME. I could have used a month instead of a week.
Well maybe it just seamed like a week, You know how slow time seams to go by when you are lost.. I might still be there lost walking the streets of London.
Really I enjoyed every minute over there.
My wife and I both attended and enjoyed ourselves very much. My wallet took a direct hit and the convertible was rather full on the drive home
Steve
No, I didn't make they Show, I only saw some of it on the web cam.
I would liked to have made it so I could have met some of the railroading guys I know of purely on the different Fora and some of the people who make the things that my railroad runs.
If you are unsure about Shows or other events try sending an e-mail or private message to someone whose name you see. You know most guys on the various Fora are very helpful - that's one of the reasons they come on.
By the way there is a Trainfest im Milwaukee next month. It is a big affair it seems. It is, unfortunately another one I shall not get to.
Here is the Show link:
http://www.trainfest.com
I hope you can make it there.
Alan You should jump on B A and go to Trainfest. So much to see within 100mi you would have a great time.
