Road Bed for G scale garden layout
Posted by Sonny47 on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 9:43 PM
Hi,

I am new to this forum and garden RR. I saw somewhere an article on using plastic downspouts from Lowes as a base for the tracks. It also showed using pvc 1/2" or 3/4" pipe to secure the downspouts to the ground. Does anyone know where this article is from?

Thanks,
Sonny

Sonny,

That was JDK's idea over on LSOL - http://www.largescaleonline.com/members/emag/article_811.html

Take a look at this thread for some more tried and tested ideas - http://cs.trains.com/forums/1446272/ShowPost.aspx

Hi SonnySign - Welcome [#welcome], I can see you are in UK I would recomend themo lite blocks they are light and can be shaped with any good rough cut saw. My layout is 400ft plus all on blocks makes cutting lawn easy no grass on tracks. Plus its easy to hide wiring under them. Hope this helps, if you put a guide as to where you are i`m sure if you need advice or a bit of help some one local to you will be only to happy to helpSmile [:)]
