new to model trains

Hello, Troyy, good to have you aboard! This is a friendly board and has many--if not most--members who run outdoor layouts. I'm not one, due to health reasons.

There are also a few folks who 'roll their own' i.e. scratchbuild, if you are inclined in that direction, and lots who run 'em right out of the box, so if you have questions, ask away!

Hi Troyy,  Nice to see a new member on the forum.  We are a great bunch on here it helps if you put a rough guide as to where you are in OZ that way if you need help at any time you may find someone local that can help with a phone call or may pop round to give advice or help if required.
