WalMart toy dept. has some "farm animals" going on clearance this week and next.  in the 1:22~1:24 "scales" there are horses, cows, and deer (currently $2.15 each, going down to $1.50).  In the range of 1:20~1:18 there are some pigs, roosters, chickens sheep and lambs.  In the range of 1:25~1:35(?) there are an assortment of dinosaurs (amusement park statuary?)  Over in the "boys"section of toys there are a large number of "Star Wars" figures in the 1:22~1:24 range, about a third are not in "uniforms" but in civilian clothing.  In the "girls section of toys, you can find "My Little Pony" sets in the 1:10~1:22 range.  Theacvtual pony is most likely not usable, but the Girls are good (if somewhat pudgy).  In the garden center you should still be able to find "solar powered" light houses, in the $15~$25 range, down from $45~$65.

My local Michaels has sport teams on sale.  In the cake decorating area, plastic, so maybe a paint job will "UV protect"?  Teams: Baseball, Basketball, Football.  The bags have enough to "field" one thin team (baseball 6 of the team in the field and one opposing batter) and are around the $3.50 range.

End-of-summer clearances

Hi guys (and gals, of course!),

Target has some amazing clearances in the toy department right now. For instance, I saw some mythological figures that would work for garden railroads for $1 something. With a little modification, they would make cheap figures.

Walgreens is closing out their summer items. $4 birdhouses that, with a little work, could be converted to cabins, houses, or whatever your heart desires. I've seen what some of you can do with birdhouses, and $4 can't be beat.

Get out and grab 'em now! Stock up on your winter projects while they're cheap!
