Age is only a state of mind, keep the mind active and enjoy life
Hi all,
I've been running my layout (300+ foot loop) for about a year now on DCC, and I'm finally at a point where I'm ready to experiment with the track voltage so that I can get a bit more speed from my locos. I could use some advice.
I'm running mostly Modern American Diesels, and LBG modern Swiss (RhB) Electric locomotives. My track was running at 14.6V, and I've bumped that to 17V (using an RRamp Meter to measure the DCC Voltage.) Would any of you recommend that I run higher voltage? If so, how much higher? How much is TOO MUCH?
By way of gear, I'm running a 10Amp PB-110 from NCE w/ a dedicated power supply from Tony's Trains, and an NCE wireless-equiped command station. I've really enjoyed the setup, and would highly recommend it.
Thanks, Sean
