An Afternoon at the the Empire II Line
Posted by dukebasketballer` on Sunday, August 3, 2008 1:09 PM
Hi Guys,

I was lucky enough to have some time to stop by Byron Custer's Empire II Line. We had a great time watching the Empire Builder speed around the tracks.

Here is a link to a video I made of it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9b8Q7FwvnNQ

Thanks for sharing your layout with us Byron.

Hi Toad,

No BBQ :( I just stopped by for an hour or 2 after our annual swap meet that is just a few miles away. Dont you worry though, we had plenty of food. Byron can verify that we probably had enough left over hotdogs for a hotdog eating contest! Byron told me that you and he have become good friends and even exchange tools from time to time.

Glad to hear he told you good things about me! hahaha

No Mike,

Those are all USA units, the cars and the engines, with a Phoenix Big Sound 97 system installed, and they will later be R/C'd with Loco-Linc, 6 amp receivers.

That thing is cool. I gotta get me one. Looks like it'll bend anything.

Gear...wait till you see the price! I am still payn for mine. And Byron has noted to me that it is a code 250 bender not a 332 code. That bites!

285 ain't bad for a good quality tool like that. Even the extra 40 for each kit for the different rail heights is still worth it if you need a good bender. I might get the whole kit just to put in my "just in case" drawer in my tool box.

Great video and a great layout. I thought the run was never going to stop!! Cool water fountain too, I'm thinking about putting one on my layout as well. Looks good.
