Thanks John, Jack, Tom and the Toadster for the comments and encouraging words.
Thanks for posting the picture of my layout in your message Tom. I thought I knew how to do that, but it has been so long since I posted pics, I forgot how to do it. I will post some more pics later.
Regards,
Zak

Looking good. Like John said, knew it wouldn't be too long before the expansion bug bit. Like the expansion.
As for the designing aspect after removing the grass, a good water feature will give "reason" for some interesting growth. Bridges, logging and fishing businesses, etc.

Hey Houdy Folks,
We expanded our little RR this summer. I have included pictures from early 2007 to the present.

We started with just a basic over and under figure 8 in early 2007. An external loop was added late in 2007 that encircled the figrue 8. This year we added an L shape that extends south to our southern lower bed. The line then runs west to the corner of our yard behind our swinging lounge where it turns north along the fence eventually curving east along the northern edge of the lay out. We plan on removing the grass in the center of the new L expansion and putting in mountains, tunnels, and maybe even a water feature. The remodeled Lazy 8 is one continuous trip. It takes a modest consist about 3 and 1/2 minutes to make the journey. some day soon I will borrow my kids movie camera and post the ride on U-Tube.
