vinyl siding for structures

Has anyone tried using vinyl siding for garden structures ?

It seems as if it would be a capital idea as it is waterproof and the "grain" could easily fit in with simulated wood siding for buildings.

Size and location matter because in hot and humid climates, vinyl siding will warp and even melt.
