Heartland Mack Switcher Bash Ideas
Posted by jerryl on Friday, June 27, 2008 8:17 AM
Anyone have any good ideas for a Mack switcher bash? I have already made a "truck" & am working on a railbus. I've heard of someone making a steam loco...seems difficult with the drive & connecting rods.  Really don't want to buy 4 other engines to get parts from..sort of defeates the whole purpose, but I am up for a challenge.  Jerry

Hi jerryl

Give in to your inner childSmile [:)]

Use the motor block & chassis moulding to do a real TTE Toby the tram basicaly Toby minus the face, and the prototype is steam powered no rods to worry about its all behind a skirt, so it doesn't scare the horses or chew up the public

A second hand LGB 4wh Dodge City & Great Western coach repainted crimson lake is ideal as the trailer for itSmile [:)]

You can take your Mack forward in time too. How about a narrow-guage GENSET or Green Goat or some other futuristic train?

Well dont get all mad, I didnt ask to do the remodel ya knowWink [;)]

My hobby time is very much a case of doing it as time allows, right now I'm in a peak period of outside workload,  but I'll get around to it when I can, afterall I still have several projects that are in various states of discompletion.

BTW got the marble countertop installed yesterday, fun fun fun putting a 37" counter into a 35" space, took 3 tries and about 1/2 a day carving at the walls with a Multimaster. I am BEAT today...so maybe I earned some bench time tonight.Wink [;)]

BTW BTW bonus points if you can figure out what the rest of that locomotive (the non HLW parts) came from, you WOULDNT beleive me if I told you.Big Smile [:D]

Naw not mad at you......had one of those days....needed to vent, poor SSF hurd the rest.

Well I could have help with home and I know several others around here could get off there tuff and help. We would have to humble ourselves to what we can really do thou.

Can get real wood flooring here, full wood no pressed board! Guy has a saw mill down the road from me and reuses old wood. Some he turns into flooring, sweet looking.

Did it call for you to cram that long thing into that short streeeeecchhhhh?
