Hi guys
HELP! I want a point indicator none of the ones on the market are suitable for my needs.
the indications look like this O O or O O for a right hand point
O O
I plan on using 5mm briliant blue LED's to provide the lights facing each way.
The problems are :- how do I switch the lights, power the lights and I want it to be an independant self contained unit that can be fitted to an LGB set of points that can be operated manualy by operating the points lever.
Also who makes a suitable point lever that looks more real than the LGB one and can be fitted to an LGB point without any messing around.
any thoughts would be most helpfull

What about a board drilled for lights (which you can find a nester for it) and a (can not remember switch type going to give it a try) SPST, or Off - Click - On or On - Click - Off.
Wiring would be another thing I need to learn on this myself.

Hi Toad
The problem is not the indicator itself its just a different looking ground / or low level signal type thing that I will have to make.
The problem is everything else
I think you mean a DPDT or a SPDT switch?? which would work as the bottom LED is always on and the top two could be switched with the one switch.
Its geting the (What brand) manual point lever to drive the switch and points at the same time and weather proofing the thing, thats got me beat as well as an equipment case to hide the batteries and CCT in
Not to mention the battery CCT to light up the indicator, I think there is more to it than just AA batteries wired through a switch to LED's but I am not sure what else if anything should be in it.
I don't think a scale version of the local railway equipment cases are big enough to hide the batteries and the other CCT bits in so I am going to try and find a drawing of a larger US or NSWGR one as the works should fit in one of those.
It's one of those I know what I want to achieve but how the Censored do I achieve it and have it look good?? type problems
