New Shay
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, February 29, 2004 1:08 PM
I just got my garden railways yesterday (fabulous as always) and was flipping through the advertisments as usual to see if there were any insanley good deals to be found. On page 39 in the Trainworld add, something caught my eye under the heisler. It said #82194 Spectrum 35 ton two-truck shay!! I was so estatic about that I barely noticed the #88999 Die-cast Shay Power Trucks!!! I proceeded to check the Bachmann website, and behold - a post on the subject. Apparently they are making another Shay to be released in the fall as well as power trucks for scratchbuilders... This means that we will have the advantage of adding a third truck to our shays for a nice class C (or even a 4 truck class D is feasible). Just wondering what anyone else had heard about this.

Yep, heard about that after Bachamnn issued their new products posting on their website. I wonder how it will be, the new Hiesler is unbeleiveable in its mechanism, so the new Shay should be a big leap over the first ones.

   Have fun with your trains

To Teran5,

That's GREAT news! I've wanted one for several years now. If you learn more, please share with the rest of us. I'm particularly interested in the power trucks for scratch-building.

Thanks

Walt

Hey All,
Looking forward to actually seeing one. As Vic said it should be a major improvement. Love the one I have now. The availability of power trucks opens up a whole world of possibilities!!! Can hardly wait. Later eh...Brian.
