Mounting gel cell batteries in a box car
Posted by Danrobert on Monday, May 26, 2008 5:49 PM

I would like to install gel cells into a box car but would like to beable to remove them without having to disconnect the wires all the time, so I can recharge them.

I have some of my own thoughts but would like to hear yours.

    Thanks

I use an AristoClassic box car for one of my trailer cars. The roof pops right off. Put some Tamiya plugs on your battery connections and your all set.

I install a small socket in the end of the car and use the same type of connector for the charger as the one that goes to the locomotive.  Just unplug the locomotive and plug in the charger.  No need to open up the car and disconnect the battery for charging.
