I think you're confusing the "annie" with the Big haulers friom way back in the day. I have an Annie and I'm completely impressed with it. For 150 bucks it delivers a remarkable level of detail and it runs smoothly at all speeds and on my layout easily pulls three bachmann J&S coaches up a 6 % grade. In my opinion it's the single best buy in G scale

I have an annike--I love it. It's got amazing detail for the price and it pulls and runs really well. I took mine apart to install remote control.
It's not the easiest locomotive to disassemble but it makes sense. I'm working from memory here, as I have the train stored outside. As I remember you need to remove the boiler shell to get the cab off, and to do that you ned to take off the air tanks on either side. There are two screws holding each air tank on--you take them out and the air tanks come off. But there's some piping that also has to come away from the air tanks. Then there is a screw on either side of the boiler shell that has to come out. I think there are some screws under the cab itself.
I'll try toi look later today and post somethign more helpful. But the bottom line is it's not that hard. It was a bit of a pain gettng it back together but definitely do-able
I looked ay my "Annies". I could see screws which appeared to be ones to the cab but I guess that some models vary from others.
If not I am sure he can be found often on MLS and GSM. Good luck with your quest.
