Braided, its less suspectible to breaking. Most use outdoor landscape lighting wire in 12 to 16 gauge. I use 16 gauge for my shorter feeds (up to 20 feet) and 14 gauge for the longer runs. It can't hurt to go bigger if you want to. I have feeds about every 50 feet with my stainless steel track.

Should one use solid or braided copper wire for outdoor track wiring?  I am using a Bridgewerks 10 amp power supply for track power.
