Random Pic's of D&S 177 & 179
Posted by Mr_Ash on Sunday, May 11, 2008 8:22 PM

I have posted lots of pic's of one of my 4-6-0 Big Hauler Durango & Silverton 179 but I think I only posted 1 before of 177 and that was in the background of a picture of somthing else lol!

Anyway 177 is the engine my sisters kid gets to run most often. I converted a Bmann D&RGW coach and 202 combine to D&S (swapped roofs of Alamosa & Northstar cars in 177's set) and there is also the boxcar and caboose from the freight set 179 came with. I actually find my self using this train myself more than the others because I consider it my "Beater" engine 179 runs alot smoother and I have put alot more work into it and 177 is basicly "Stock" it has no engineer or fireman figures and the only detals i added was ozark headlight visors on the headlamp & tender light, brass sand lines (just bent 4 pieces of brass rod over a baseball bat cut them same length and glued them oved the moulded ones using the exsisting holes) and LGB baloon stack that broke off my sisters kids 0-4-0 from the LGB starter set i got him and lost for a few months.... I replaced the one on his loco with a metal ozark baldwin stack same as on 179 lol i need to get a pic of that it looks swell Big Smile [:D]

Oh yeah! Durango & Silverton's lease on engine 179 ran out and the D&RGW took it back! Shock [:O]

Also note the new ladder Cool [8D]
