What scale is the hartland locomotive works stuff, namely the long passenger cars?

It's about 1:24. It will look fine with your Bachmann trains.

They are smaller than the Bachmann cars, and it can be very apparent if you hook a Bmann passenger car to a HLW passenger car. I have the short combine from HLW, if I hook it up to my LGB vesibule cars it looks almost 10 to 15% smaller.  I always thought the long passenger cars looked even smaller than the short cars, I suspect the shorties were intended to be closer to 1/22 to be compatible with LGB engines while the long cars were made specific to the 1/24 C-16. That said the HLW cars are really good and durable. I wish I had some picks to show sizes.

The gondola and flat car are a perfect size match for LGB, USA, and Bachmann 1:22.5ish equipment.  Never seen the passenger cars in person.
