Posted by powlee on Thursday, April 17, 2008 12:48 PM

We are travelling from the UK to Phoenix for the Garden Railway Convention. Will be around Arizona a week before the show then afterwards down to Tucson for a few days renewing old aquantainces. Anybody else going, will I be able to put faces to forum names?

If you happen to run across Paul, don't ask him about his pinky ring. He has connections....

Hey Paul, see if he isn't the guy over there that got one of our special beer cars!   I forget if it's him or two tone!

You bad, Brian!

Yes Bob, Ian has one of the very limited, very collectable, and very high pricey one-of-a-kind-all-collectors-must-have beer cars.  To the best of my knowledge he has the ONLY one on the European continent.  That makes both the car and the owner very specialBow [bow]

I had the pleasure of meeting Ian and Frances last year before I did the "Army thing".  He is quite a pleasant fellow and I am sad to say I will have to give him a miss this year.  Give them my love.......

To the best of my knowledge only 9 of those exist on the entire planet!   As of a couple of months ago there had been no other requests for that specialized treatment!   He has a true rarity!

So for those inquiring minds, when you compare that pic to what you see in catalog or store, they are signed by the owner of the brewery!   Sam was kind enough to do that for us in the local club!

That much desireable car is made by Bachmann.  I gave mine to Ian when he visited here last year and the look on his face was worth all the rice in China.  Sometimes things are just too valuable for money, and the pleasure I recieved by giving it to him was one of those things.  After all, I couldn't let him leave my hometown without something very special to take home, and I don't think a bluefin she-crab would have made it through customs.....Wink [;)]

I have downed a few Dogfish brews in the last few years.  I did not know that they had authirized a G scale car.  Cuto's to Bachman to being an abmasodor to both G scale and micro brewers!  I do not know when the last time I had a mass broduced brew,  Hopefully, my locals Red Brick, Sweet water, and Terrapin will fall in line in authorizing a brew car!
