1" Scale Garden Railways

I got started in 1" scale (4.75" guage) based on the review of the Riding Railkits starter set done last spring. I don't see any activity on this forum from 1" scale modelers - just the smaller stuff.

Does GR address the 1" scale modelers? Is there a different/better forum for this interest?

Hope you're enjoying the Riding Railkits set. GR doesn't often address the 1" scale stuff. This product review was a foray into areas we don't usually cover. You might try this web site: http://www.nmia.com/~vrbass/steam/steamfaq.htm It primarily addresses live-steam stuff, but there's a list of resources that may help.

Also, have you tried Yahoo forums? I know they have scale-specific model train forums.

Of course, you're welcome to stay here and chat too. Do you have any pics to share of your work?

Photos, yes , We all like photos.
I thought many times of going into the 1" scale. Had all the prices etc lined up. BUT. After visiting couple of really nice "ride-on" railroad places realized I like the whole "model" aspect of building a scenic railroad with long trains , mountains and tall bridges. Which in my houseing setting would never have money or space. The operating of engines alone does not trip my trigger. But the creating of a believable "outdoor" railroad.
Even live steam interest me if,,IF its in a nice setting. I don't care to walk around a raised boards just for the engine alone.
( I'm not knocking it) But there is a difference in types of "outdoor" railroads and reasons for each interest.

I own a 1" diesel from maxitrak. I don't run it at my home but I am a member of LALS (Los Angeles Live Steamers). I do not have the space or money for a ride on train but It sure would be fun.
