My MTH dcs finally works, thanks for the help to all

I won't bore you to much with the history but this thing finally seems to work correctly! I'm running MTH DCS with Aristo stainless track and about 50% original track connectors. I use one Lionel ac power brick and one track tiu for over 300' of track so far connected in the basement. The most important fix has been the use of the  correct light bulbs (#s 1818 and/or 1873) for my layout. They must draw off the bad interference so the engines can transpond correctly. It seems to be that the bulbs must draw enough amperage to do the job. I've done several other improvements also and will continue if needed. I've upgraded the antennas to give much greater operating range. I've upgraded the DCS to version 4 (important because orginally the remote software may not have been the same as the TIU!).

Originaly no one seemed to know what the problems fix was. MTH reps gave me ideas but were not exact enough to fix. The several problems I encountered all at once seemed to make troubleshooting impossible. I have posted this before but right now everything is bug free.

I would like to thank Ridge Road for steering me to these forums. I say this because you all need to be thanked, so help out in the future!!!!!!!!!!!

email me: jwpcfv@msn.com, if I can help anyone, Joe P.

Now I see a posting in this months letters in June's Garden Railways, Thanks

funny? last months run I left a switch to a future siding turned open after maching the frog deeper and heard a huge crash as all the highballing cars came to an emergency stop. all would have hit the floor except my lazy habits left a pile of plywood strips on the tables edge steering the train onto the table!!!!!!!!! That's great to hear you got your DCS up and running good.  I wish I had been on these forums sooner (before today) as I might have been able to helps some.

Those light bulbs can make all the difference that is for sure.

Good luck and enjoy.  Now is where the fun begins!

Raymond, as soon as I can find a new job, I would like to contact you about some future installs. I must thank you again cause with out your help I might have gave up!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now with some upgrades I think this is the best system choice. I also have digitrax super chief, and prodigy systems that work well to compare. I am waiting for the new QSI sound system that will work on all systems!!

I hope people will look at your site to help them also.
