My LGB 2017D trash 'n bash revisited
Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, March 1, 2008 9:25 PM

As some of you might remember, about a year ago I decided to Americanize my 2017 "Americanized" Stainz... I was never really happy with the compromise cab I had built because of the European "porthole" end windows. I was given an Aristo c-16 cab, and decided this week to try to make it fit...which led to even MORE meatball surgery.

Anyway, here is what I started with a year ago...

And here is what it looks like this evening...

I still need to finish up a few things, paint it, get decals and weather it... For those who care the steps of the build can be found here:  http://www.catfish-hollow.com/StainzBash.html

I just couldn't leave well enough alone, lol. Every little I made change led to another one, and another one. At the moment I've run out of ideas, so I guess it's almost "done".

Anyway, here it is ready for decals and weathering. I guess I might be in a rut, I've been using the same paint scheme since I was in n-scale!

Don't know whether it is "done", but I quit, lol.

Too bad I have to tear the layout down in a couple weeks....
