K-line G Gauge Diesal Problems
Posted by Independent Operator on Monday, February 18, 2008 9:38 AM

I've had nothing but problems with various K-line GP-9 diesal engines either out of the boxes new or used.  K-line quit making these when they went in with Lionel and there is no customer support or repair from them for G.  What happens is they all of a suddden start running rough, wobbling, stopping and going and stoping and throwing sparks from the wheels and power pick up pads.  I've cleaned the tracks till they shine, cleaned the power pick up pads and wheels and banged my head against the wall.  My other engines from USA trains and LGB that have power pick up pads have no problems.  I run on LGB brass track and wonder if there is a compatibility problem there.

Has anyone else had this problem with K-line?  Any input appreciated.

buy a set of aristo or USA trains motor blocks and never worry about it again
