Glade to see it is not either OD or Camo, but it is very sharp for inspection! Glade to have you here!

Hi sfcgadget, Layout looks good LGB is good track if you have any parts that will be hard to get to when its all down I would recomend clamps as rail joiners saves a lot of swearing when there is a power break. AS you dont say where you are can I surgest that you make sure your layout is covered by insurance IE house contents thats what mine is covered with. My rolling stock lives in the summer house but locos come in doors on a cradle. Enjoy layng track and running trains

Rebuild of G-Scale Layout
Posted by sfcgadget on Saturday, January 12, 2008 3:28 PM

It is time to rebuild my G-Scale layout. Getting older and military service has taken its toll on me and my old ground level layout. After several years of neglect and retiring from the Army, I plan to rebuild my layout so it will be closer to the house, out from under many trees and take advantage of a new shed I built. The shed has a woodworking shop, storage space and a railroad workshop in it. Being winter, I put up a loop of track around the walls to be able to run smaller equipment. The layout will be built at close to waist level and utilize benchwork, screening, weed block and real ground cover including ballast. Two tunnel portals will lead into the shed for runthrough tracks and storage. With this plan, it should eliminate the carrying rolling stock from the basement, no more crawling around on my knees to clean track or pursue an electrical problem. The old LBG track will be used and added to as required. All buildings will have low voltage lighting as they have had in the past. The track plan will allow for two trains to be run at the same time. Now I just have to wait for good weather.
