Lionel made both O gauge and "G" gauge (large-scale) Polar Express sets. According to their web site, both products are still available. Have you tried calling a local hobby shop? I'm sure there are also sets for sale online.

You can see a photo if you go to their web site (www.lionel.com), click on products, and search by "polar express" in the search box.

Yeah dude, I'd just go for the Lionel one. It'd probably be less of a temptation to pull out your hairs.

Bachmann DID make a Polar Express set, it was a 4-6-0 Big Hauler and 2 passenger cars that were painted with Polar Express lettering. I came out 3 or 4 years ago, I havent seen any sets on Ebay.

Lionel has the set scheduled for delivery in 2008.  Picture shows Polar express cars and an engine with 4 drive axles.  Pictures do show the hobo on top, set comes with 2 cars.

They're already on sale on Ebay, and I've seen pictures online of sets already set up around trees, so they've already been delivered. Call around.

I ordered my Lionel Polar Express set from Ridge Road Station,

their price is under $94.00 ($93 + change) plus shipping.

They have them in stock, just go to their web site, click: Lionel, G-scale, Christmas - Polar Express...

I'm waiting for the Big Brown Truck to show up with mine,

 later this morning...

Merry Christmas....

I just had the idea of making a custom Polar Express from a Anniversary Big Hauler and a couple of cars.

I bought 20-  8 1/2" straights for the Polar Express and then didn't even buy the train.  How do ya'all like the train?

I paid $75 for all 20 pieces before shipping.  Anyone need any?  Contact me via email   bcool831@pldi.net  Barry  (Hopes that didn't violate any rules.  If so, sorry.)

Hi Betsy I have the full set for the Bachmann G Scale Polar Express - Comic book, VHS, track, train, cars, and even the bell accessory. Considering posting it on eBAY this fall. Let me know if you would like to make an offer before I post. Thanks, James
