I think there are a number of people on this forum who've been injured with tools but are somewhat sheepish to admit.
The worst so far I've done is get nasty splinters in my hand from a table saw kickback. I wear gloves and full mask now and even a coat for body armor (in addition to push sticks and so on)
When I was a Police Officer they had gloves out and many still got stuck by needles (most was + for Hept.or HIV) and in a knife attack your vest don't help, shanks either. Been there and done it.Toad

Okay well I think these gloves are good I have been using them for a few years whenever I work on my car use power tools and they hold up to knife's just fine too, sometimes i get bored and do that knife trick that Bishop from the movie Aliens does lol Im pretty good at it to and can do it pretty fast but sometimes after a few beer's I miss lol! All I get is a few bruises on my fingers and im using a sharp dagger
I never said they were good for what they were designed for, I just stated what they were designed for and that I happen to use/like them. I have drilled into my hand before using a simmiler sized bit to the one you have pictured with these gloves on and it didnt go through the layers, It went through the leather and the liner got wrapped up around the drill bit like lots of cloth does with drills and torqued the drill out of my other hand. lol then the glove was stuck on my hand because the drill made the liner tight and the drill was just hanging from the glove/hand by the bit untill i reversed it and ran it a few seconds to let go of the liner

Back when I was in boyscouts they allways told us when using a knife allways cut away from yourself so you lower the risk of cutting yourself. Same applies to pretty much everything.

That's not that bad! I once shot a 3.5 inch nail through the middle section of my left index finger (and through my glove). Luckily, it missed the bone. If your last tetanus shot was over 10 years ago, you should go get a booster.
