Lionel made a G-gauge Thomas and James in the early 90's.

The Thomas set came with Thomas, Annie and Clarabel. And the James set came with James and two "Troublesome trucks." I believe thats all Lionel made in G. Two locos and 4 cars total.

they are out of production and very hard to find now, but they do exist.

Since all of the locos described in the books are real ones, it is possible to re-construct them from kits or scratch build them. The latter option supplied my son with both TOBY and PERCY.

IP Eng supply a TOBY kit for 45mm gauge http://www.ipengineering.co.uk/page53.html

PERCY can be found at Garden Railway Specialists as "Pecket Saddle Tank" code: DG236
TIN and TOM the two diesals who work at the scrap yard (Boo Hiss!!!) can be found as "Hudswell Clark" code : DG291

Garden Railway Specialists can be found ahere http://www.grsuk.com/index.asp?info/welcome.htm

I like Thomas the Tank Engine a lot. I was trying to see if any G scale models of him have ever been made. I have found out the have, but they're rare. I just wanted to ask if I should kitbash locomotives from Thomas and how should I do it Confused [%-)]?
