You know there's a sequel to this "leak", LGB has a confidental "Journal" on their website, which is password protected. It took less than 24 hours to come up with the "password" (666666), the password and the "secrecy" sure provided an opening for a few "comments".

Two years ago they had a similar "goof up" where, quite unintentionally , they left their "New Product" picture database open to all comers who knew the URL. It took them a while to get proper security in place. Then we got to hear about "improper data aquisition", which just made everyone laugh. The URL didn't need to be hacked, it just needed to be discovered. Usually that happens when someone looks at a sitemap and puts two and two together. [;)][;)]

Hi all,

I noticed the other posts about LGB's "oops" with the new products, but didn't respond. An interesting thought if the oops was intentional or just a goof-up. Either way, we at the mags here are keeping their embargo request just to be on the safe side.

BTW, the embargo date that Terry listed on MR.com has changed to January 19, after 5 p.m. CST.

Well, Terry........ we didn't break the embargo agreement either, but if LGB.com is "smart enough" to post the stuff as a PDF, I certainly will download immediately and make the stuff available to the rest of the fraternity.

Frankly some of us are still debating if this was an intentional "leak" or if it is was just a matter of me being in the right place at the right time. Whichever way the stuff got scooped.[:D][:D][:D] If they want to keep things under wraps they have to instruct their web-polishers not to post anything on the site but do everything in "Preview". That's part of "webmaster101"[;)][8D][:)]
