Yeah I should know about them! Which in real life I do but in G scale I have no clue as to a just about true to right scale that would get me the feel that they and the Engines (G) would look good together. Is there such a scale for the boats?

boats are cool. Here's a site you might begin to explore: http://www.towerhobbies.com/rcwboat.html
You can purchase boats in many scales (depending on what G gauge scale you use) that are remote control. If your trains are near a lake, that's great. If not, well, I've often thought about building a working canal with barges that propell along. There are waterproof ESC (speed, direction controlers) as well as brushless motors, most fast rpm but some built for tugs are very slow and can move tonnage. I've often wondered why Garden modelers don't incorporate more r/c boats and vehicles into their layout. Would add a lot of exxcitement and movement
Check the plans archives I think theres a lobster boat and a small tug and some other's

Yes they are part of the Ted Stinson NENG plansets that we used to get in the rag, you can still get the plans direct from NENG as well as kits if you chose that route, they have 3 or 4 1/20~1/22 and 1/2" scale boat plansets. I have a freelance riverboat in the works, plans only so far, just got no time!

(Toad, I'm posting since you can't get into 7/8 site)
Incidentally, I have a real sea kayak that I use on local lakes and rivers.
This is not mine. The builder is John Helmer from Canada
