I had thought about making the hump about 8 inches tall, until I calculated that I would need about 20 foot to ramp up to  the top, and then another 20 feet down the other side and another 15~20 ft worth of yards.  Then I calculated the cost of rails to do the job would run about $1,700 US.  SWMBO vetoed that even before I had the opportunity to ask, she saw the plans and cost work up.  Of course by that time I had already given up simply because there was not sufficient room available.

Any one have a G Gauge hump yard...like to see that, Trigg, How big would you have made your hump yard if given the grounds and had it?

Since I use the LGB "Hook and Loop" on the vast majority of my stuff, pushing is almost out of the question.  Especially after just disconnecting.  One disconnect would work if it was a hump yard, but did not have the room for that, even considered it.

Any car can be slowly pushed without coupling. That's a big part of the challenge.

Four? Four? Why might I ask are you using four? Is that just the way you want to do it? I would only use one located probably right before the main turnout going into the yard. That would increase operations potential by making you have to use just the one, and push the cars into the yard......but that's just me. I do think doing it that way would be more prototypical. I might be so far off base I ain't even in the ball park.

I'm going to be wiring several sections of track this week.  In particular the yards.  I am planning to experiment with wiring four LGB Electric Uncouplers 10560 in parallel so that they will all rise or fall from one switch.  Has anyone done this before?  If so how well/poorly did it work/not work?  Can anyone think of why it would not work?  I have 4 of them and they are fairly close together as can be seen here:

I'm trying to avoid getting another control box.
