I really like the Light Inspection Car from the early 1900s.I made an earlier one using the Radio Shack Zip Zaps, but it really doesn't last long on a charge. Jon Radder provided me with a Stomper, so I decided to use that as a base for a new one. I got some spoked wheels from Ozark and crafted the rest from styrene, brass wire, and Sculpey.
I routed the headlight from the Stomper to light the lantern. Now I have something that can make the rounds on my layout.
It still goes a bit too fast for my taste, but you can't have everything.
Neat little project Bruce. Did you make the figures too? Does the Stomper drivetrain run on AA batteries? Maybe you could try using a partly dead one with a good one to slow it down a bit. What does the prototype run on? an electric motor with batteries?

Thanks, Brian. I just made the man. The woman is from "Mike's Backshop". The Stomper runs on 1 AA battery - so I guess I'll just let the one battery run down a bit - it's already made a few laps on my layout; not sure if it's any slower yet.
I'm not sure what the prototype used. It doesn't look like there's much room for batteries, so I suspect internal combustion engine - though I'm not sure there's much room for a fuel tank either.

Bruce I'm pretty sure looking at that pic that it had a small distillate fueled internal combustion motor under under the floorboards with a fuel tank stuffed somewhere down there.
Have fun with your trains
OK why should Bruce have all the fun with his cool little Stomper speeder rebuild...
From this years BTS.
I read about Stompers before, where the heck do you get them?
