In the winter months I want to run my G scale trains on a suspended track system in my recreation room. Commercial systems are to costly for me, some running at $23.00 per foot!
Has anyone be successful in building a suspended system that looks good and is economical? If so have you/can post your pictures?
Thanks

I have an out side track and an inside track which are both track power. winter time when the snow blows i run in side , I guess i'm a sissy because i run inside to, here is a picture of my inside track ,it's made from 1x6 pine boards and the turns are made from plywood. this track is in my basement. the top track runs all around the basement it's about 80 ft. in all ben
If I were going to do this, I would consider using the wire rack shelving so the trains are visible at all times, because a solid wood base blocks your view of the train except when it's on the opposite side of the room from where you are. Curves would still be a problem, though.
