From the Garden Railways magazine, June 2006, page 107:
"LGB will not claim a scale for their models"
That said, if it looks good, run it.
Gwyl,
It is almost 1:29
The height is spot on, the width is 4% too narrow, the length is 2.4% too short, the kingpin distance is also too short.
But all in all, quite close for a LGB item.
Hope that helps
ER
I have a number of their 3 bays.
I also cut one down into a 2 bay, most of their modern rolling stock is close. I have 8 of the 52' flat cars repainted.
Is it REAL? or Just 1:29 scale?
Long live Outdoor Model Railroading.

Here is a link to a review that Shad (the site owner of MLS.com) had done a while back.
Hope this helps.
