LGB Cylindriacl Hoopers
Posted by Gwyl on Friday, August 3, 2007 9:25 PM
I was looking at the LGB Cylindrial hoppers in the LHS and noticed the box did not have a scale listed. They appear to be 1/29 or there abouts but I'm not sure and the hobby store owner didn't know either. Does anyone know what scale these are?

Thanks

From the Garden Railways magazine, June 2006, page 107:

"LGB will not claim a scale for their models"

That said, if it looks good, run it.

Gwyl,

It is almost 1:29Wink [;)]

The height is spot on, the width is 4% too narrow, the length is 2.4% too short, the kingpin distance is also too short.

But all in all, quite close for a LGB item.

Hope that helps

Thanks guys. The LHS is discounting them due to having them on the self for a while so I'm contemplating getting a couple provided the scale was real close to 1/29.

Thanks

I have a number of their 3 bays.

I also cut one down into a 2 bay, most of their modern rolling stock is close. I have 8 of the 52' flat cars repainted.

Is it REAL? or Just 1:29 scale?

Long live Outdoor Model Railroading.

Thanks a bunch. That link helps alot. I'd better go get a couple of these while the dealer still has them discounted.
