Mining Rail Question
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, July 29, 2007 4:22 PM

Where has been for you the best place to buy code 100 On30 track for your mining rail?

I feel it would look better if I kept "G" gauge track off the mining part where the engine and small mine cars go in and out of the mine. Just the two tracks would be better.

Hi,  I'm using code 83 On30 flex track from Micro Mark for my mining track.  I bashed a On30 Porter  and put a G scale man sitting on the coal bunker and pulling 3 mining cars.  I have not completed the mountain, hope to finish this summer (Too much rain). The mining track will run and out of the mountain about 16 inches above the G scale track.

Don't make brass anymore. I have some old code 100 in my bin, but it has HO ties. probally better to buy some nicle-silver On30 rail from a supplier and paint it (i'm assuming that you want brass for the look).

It shuld be fine, right? Isn't the reason they went to nickel-silver is becouse it dosen't oxidise so it gets better electrical pick-up?
