Hi scoobster28

Another manufacturer of kits.

http://www.ipengineering.co.uk/

Be mindful of the need to specify 45mm gauge when ordering IP kits or ordering wheels Etc for Temille kits or you could end up with 32mm gauge 16mm scale wheels

Garden Railway Specialists also do kits and may still do conversion kits for Lehmann toy train.

Just in case you don't know MOD on the IP web site means Ministry Of Defence

I have a couple of IP kits waiting to go together they are of wood construction and seem very well made, I cannot comment on ease of construction they are still in their packets

regards John

altterrain,

You have a great memory. Actually, have in the works THREE seperate large-scale train projects.

1. To build 1:29 scale models of the Arcade and Attica Railroad. This is where the conversion of the Aristocraft C-16 will be important. I already have two 44-tonners done, and will chop up some Aristocraft "heavyweight" coaches into "Boonton" coaches. Pictures: http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/album/558639800ZmmskA

2. I want to build a British style train. This will have short cars, both passenger and freight, pulled by small British style engines. I already have an LGB Stainz that I did some work on, and now I want some carriages to pull behind it. The engine is not finished, as it needs a steam dome and brass trim for the boiler bands. I tried expoxying thin brass strips but that was a disaster. I might just give up on that part. Pictures: http://rides.webshots.com/album/557686787eKAPoK

3. I want some modern equipment to run as part of my "regular" trains. The A&A trains will be just for special occasions, and will mostly be displayed. The British style trains will be run regularly, but I also want regular American style trains.

Thanks for the replies, and I will check out the link above.

Be mindful of scale with these. The gauge 1 coaches are 1:30.5 and the 16 mm coaches are 1:19 running as 2 foot ng on O gauge track (I think). If I remember correctly, you were thinking about converting a 1:24 C-16 to a 1:29 sg loco (so the gauge 1 cars might work).

I was thinking about building some British coaches to run behind a kitbashed engine, and looking through some old Model Railroaders came across some coaches made by "Tenmille Products." Do they still exist? Does any other company make British style coaches?
